Last friday I had to pick my son up early from the sitters because he had a 101.9 fever and the sitter didn't want to watch him with that high of a fever. Saturday he didn't have a fever anymore, but he had the runs. Sunday he was tugging at his ear so I took him to the walk-in clinic. Turns out he has an ear infection and the medicine he's on gives him diarrhea. So needless to say I haven't been to work much this past week.
Last saturday was ungodly busy for me. I got up damn early and went with Brad to help build a house. Well I just pounded nails in, heh.. Then we came back home, got the dogs and went down to Riverside where the humane society was holding a fundraiser. Came back home and I cleaned the house, then Brad and I went to see XXX. Good movie. Saturday night we went to the Melrose corn broil. Ate some corn, talked to people, played some bingo, listened to the music, and then left. I won a game of bingo though. *grin* I had won a blanket.
Sunday my mum, grandma, Cagen, and I went to the Dells to go antiquing. Didn't really find anything. I bought a old book on the death penalty.
On The Pulse last Thurs, Bill O'Riley was talking about should African-Americans get restitution because their ancestors were slaves. And the guy he was talking to (that supposed this) well... talk about UGH. O'Riley asked him why the decendants of those who fought in the civil war to free the slaves shouldn't get money then too. And the guy's answer, bascially came across as 'They weren't African-American, they weren't slaves, therefore they shouldn't get anything. It's only us who deserves restitution.'
I'm sorry and all, but I don't think African-Americans or Indians for that matter should get anything. Nothing was done to these people this day and age and us white people didn't do anything. It's in the PAST. Let it go already.. Not fair to make us pay for something that didn't happen to *them*. Was their ancestors that had bad things happen to. NOT THEM. ugh.
No offense to anyone who believes they should get something out of all this. Just my opinion. *smiles*
Been trying to learn a couple different patterns to do when I crochet. Slow going, but I'll get the hang of them...
Got all my school books *finally* on wednesday.
Men still suck. :)
Think I'm going to feed Cagen now and put him down for a nap. Then find something for lunch for myself.
