Save our horses

I am writing this on a piece I saw on 10 TV out of Columbus on
Sugarcreek Livestock Auction and their sale of horses for meat.

The owner of the auction says these horses are broke down and not worth
doing anything with but killing. Well he is so wrong. Anyone who watched
and knows anything about horses saw the camera show many yearlings and
young horses. Some of these horses are stolen from farms out of state
and even in Ohio. Most of these horses, well 99 percent, have many years
left to give love to new owners. I know many people that just get rid of
horses because they say it costs too much to feed a horse. That's not
true. Three bags of feed a month equals $18 and 10 bales of hay equals
$20 for a total of $38.

The love you get back is priceless. My wife and I were lucky enough to
own about 15 horses in a four-year period, until I could not work any
longer. My children cared for and loved them as well as my wife and I.

They have a bill in the house to ban the sale of horses for slaughter.
Please contact who you have to, to save these wonderful animals. You
don't have to take your unwanted horses to Sugarcreek Auction. There are
many adoption places in the state of Ohio that will come and get them
and take care of them and place them on a loving farm. Please save our
horses.
